Intreresting! May I know where did you take inspiration for those clothes? :)

Here the cut/pattern is inspired (reconstructed) by a real historical garment (houppellande, Burgund, late middle ages -> 15th Century). The rest is my own design/taste (embroideries, colours, form of hem decoration):)

For historical clothing or reconstructions, of course, you have to work near the original pieces and do a lot of researching. My fantasy-projects, however, are always designed freely (without inspiration) or just based on historical pieces, but very abstracted.

Thanks for the answer! I was just wondering if there is a specific source (like a painting or an extant dress) that you used :)

Thanks! :) And time.. hmmm... I guess it was a week. Handmade is everything outside - the embroidery, button holes, outer seams.

Very beuatiful, both of you! I am however curious if it was possible to dye linen in such a saturated red colour?

Thanks!:)

And the colour is darker on the photo than real.
However linen is very easy to dye - even with non-chemical colours you could get a bright red. I donīt know the english translation, but just search for "Krappwurzel" or "Cochenille" (the colour is a little bit pink). You can get the following results:

With "Krappwurzel":
